About the Author

Josh Boldt is a crime, mystery, and Southern Gothic author from Lexington, Kentucky who specializes in the themes, settings, and characters of the American South. His novels include Moneymaker, The False Favorite, and Slurry. Boldt also serves on the Board of Directors for the Lexington Writer’s Room.
A believer in the Jack London school of experiential learning and a lifelong seeker of new adventures, Boldt has held many jobs, including grocery stocker, horse farm gardener, entomology field tech, umpire, dishwasher, mattress salesman, construction worker, vintage furniture dealer, college professor, IT Director, and graphic designer. He also has a graduate degree in English from Eastern Kentucky University, and he taught writing at the University of Georgia for several years.
Boldt’s books fit in the same category as the crime writing of Elmore Leonard, but his fiction adds a twist of the American southerner’s conflicted identity found in a Chris Offut novel or a Flannery O’Connor story.
