Josh Boldt leaning against brick wall wearing black blazer and t-shirt

Josh Boldt is a rising voice in contemporary Southern literature, known for his gritty crime fiction, regional flavor, and exploration of the Southern psyche.

A believer in the Jack London school of experiential learning and a lifelong seeker of new adventures, Boldt has held more than fifty jobs, including grocery stocker, horse farm gardener, entomology field tech, umpire, dishwasher, mattress salesman, construction worker, and vintage furniture dealer. He also holds a graduate degree in English from Eastern Kentucky University.

Boldt’s books fit in the same category as the crime writing of Elmore Leonard, but his fiction adds a twist of the American southerner’s conflicted identity found in a Chris Offut novel or a Flannery O’Connor story.

Boldt is the author of three novels: Moneymaker, The False Favorite and Slurry. He resides in Lexington, Kentucky, where he’s hard at work on his next novel.
